The Warriors put a scare into the Celtics in the third quarter, but Boston weathered the storm to come away with a victory in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry had a typical third-quarter flurry, but the Celtics had too much offense between 27 points from Jaylen Brown, 26 points from Jayson Tatum and 24 points from Marcus Smart. Even with 31 points from Curry and 25 points from Klay Thompson, the Warriors didn't have enough to overcome Boston.
The Celtics' size dominated a smaller Warriors squad, beating Golden State in rebounding (47-31), points in the paint (52-26) and second-chance points (22-11).
Golden State is now in a tough position, in desperate need of a win in Game 4 in Boston to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole.
