The stage is set for the 2022 NBA Finals.

The last two teams standing are the Warriors and Celtics, as a pair of the league's most historic franchises go head-to-head in a battle for the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Warriors reached the NBA Finals by way of defeating the Nuggets, Grizzlies and Mavericks to win the Western Conference. Superstar guard Stephen Curry was awarded the first-ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award with averages of 23.8 points, 7.4 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals to defeat Dallas.

The Celtics reached the NBA Finals after going through the Nets, the defending champion Bucks and Heat. It took Boston two Game 7 victories to reach this stage for the first time since 2010. All-Star forward Jayson Tatum led the way, earning the first-ever Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award with averages of 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.1 steals to defeat Miami.

Robert Williams III Available

Injury/Illness - Left Knee; Soreness

Celtics' starting center Robert Williams III (knee) was a name to look out for on the official injury report but he will be available to suit up and play in Game 1. 

Williams looked hobbled in the team's Game 7 win over the Heat. On Tuesday, head coach Ime Udoka told the media he was considered "day-to-day."

It's also worth noting that Udoka said there is "no concern" about Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart (ankle) physically entering the Finals.

The three players to look out for on the Warriors' injury report will be Gary Payton II (elbow), Otto Porter Jr. (foot) and Andre Iguodala (neck).

According to head coach Steve Kerr, Payton is expected to return for the Warriors at "some point" during the NBA Finals from a broken left elbow suffered in the second round against the Grizzlies.

Kerr also said that Iguodala and Porter are making "positive strides towards playing again" as they have both returned to practice and will be re-evaluated each day.

"That's what we're aiming for, but we'll have a better feel after the next couple days of practice," Kerr told the media on Sunday.
