Vince Carter will turn 40 during the next NBA season, but he doesn't envision quitting any time soon.

On the sideline of the Bethune-Cookman vs. Alcorn State football game this weekend (before it was canceled), Carter spoke to ESPN about his future. The veteran, heading into his 19th season, knows the end is near but sees a couple more seasons in him.

"I just love to play. It's not out of me yet. When I don't want to play and don't want to put the work in, that's when I step away from the game, but right now I still love it."

So you're not retiring now?

"Not right now," Carter said. "We know (season) No. 19 is definitely going to go down. I'm shooting for 20, and we'll go from there after that."

When Carter does call it quits, he'll put to an end a potential Hall of Fame career. Pro Basketball Reference has his chances of making the Hall at around 95 percent, and it'd be deserved if he makes it.

He currently sits 29th on the all-time scoring list with 23,969 points, though his production has fallen off in recent years as he's been relegated to being a bench player.
