With each passing minute, Victor Wembanyama seems to impress the world in new ways.
Walt Frazier is just one of those amazed by the Spurs rookie. The Knicks legend had high praise for Wembanyama on a night in which he set a new career high in points.
The Knicks traveled to San Antonio on Friday night for their second meeting of the season with the Spurs. Frazier, the color commentator for New York's MSG Network, compared Wembanyama to four NBA legends on the broadcast. Add in that Frazier is a Hall of Famer himself, and this praise as high as it gets.
How many points did Wembanyama score in his career night? To which NBA stars did Frazier compare Wembanyama? Here's the answer to those questions and more.
What is Victor Wembanyama's career high in points?
The Spurs' 20-year-old center scored 40 points in the Spurs' 130-126 overtime win against the Knicks at San Antonio's AT&T Center.
His previous career high of 38 points came back on Nov. 2 in a 132-121 win against the Suns. He has scored at least 30 points in eight games this season.
To whom did Walt Frazier compare Victor Wembanyama?
Frazier broke down his Wembanyama comparison into four NBA legends. The Spurs rookie has an offensive game reminiscent of Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar, while having "the defensive tenacity" of Bill Russell, Frazier said.
He added that Wembanyama's judgement and ability to make decisions on the fly reminds him of LeBron James.
"This is my assessment of Wemby: He has the offensive prowess of Kareem & Wilt; the defensive tenacity of Bill Russell; and the sagacity & versatility of LeBron"

Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar and Russell are all Hall of Famers and often considered top 10 players of all time. James is a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he retires, and it's often debated whether he is the greatest to ever play the game.

Frazier also added that "it's going to be over for the league" when Wembanyama adds more muscle.

The Knicks great isn't directly comparing stats, since that's not always indicative of a player's ability. That's not to say Wembanyama's stats aren't impressive. But if it was purely a stats comparison, Chamberlain blows everyone away.
