Team USA hit the floor for the first time ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, cruising to a comfortable 117-74 win over Puerto Rico. 

After a slow start, Team USA blew the game open in the second half, outscoring Puerto Rico 67-31 across the final 20 minutes, including a 20-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters.

Seven players scored in double figures on the night, led by 15 points apiece from Anthony Edwards and Cam Johnson, while Tyrese Haliburton pulled the strings, leading the second unit with 12 assists to go with seven points. Jalen Brunson finished with an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double. 

Former Boston Celtics guard Tremont Waters led Puerto Rico with 17 points and five steals.

The United States will now head to Spain for scrimmages against Slovenia and Spain before traveling to Abu Dhabi for warm-up games against Greece and Germany.

That's a wrap for Team USA's first competitive hit out. A comfortable 43-point win!

10:13 a.m. — Haliburton gets free in the open floor and slams it home. Make that a 39-8 run for Team USA. They lead 113-69.

12:06 a.m. —  Walker Kessler checks into the game for his first minutes of the contest. All 11 active players have now seen the floor tonight. Josh Hart did not suit up tonight (rest).

12:00 a.m. — Tyrese Haliburton's playmaking has been elite tonight. he's got 12 dimes. None better than this behind-the-back to Jaren Jackson Jr. 

11:58 p.m. — Team USA not giving up an inch tonight, they're on a 20-0 scoring run to make it 94-61.

11:51 p.m. — Team USA starting the fourth quarter with a smaller lineup, with Bobby Portis at center. He's joined by Tyrese Haliburton, Auston Reaves, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson.

Team USA has blown the game open in the third, outscoring Puerto Rico 34-18, behind their lockdown defense.

Anthony Edwards has a team-high 15 points, while Mikal Bridges and 12 and Brandon Ingram 10. 

Tremont Waters leads Puerto Rico with 15 points, while George Conditt IV has 12. 

11:43 p.m. — The ball is moving for Team USA. Make that 18 assists on 31 made field goals. They lead 74-60.

11:37 p.m. — Anthony Edwards is heating up in Q3! He's got eight of his team-high 12 points in the period. 

11:36 p.m. — Aleem Ford with the much-needed triple for Puerto Rico to cut it to 65-52.

11:33 p.m. — The unselfishness is on full display for Team USA as they continue to make the extra pass. Banchero drops it off to Edwards for the easy bucket to make it 65-52.

11:32 p.m. — Brandon Ingram = FIBA rim protector.

11:30 p.m. — Jackson Jr. brings up his third foul of the night and heads to the bench. Paolo Banchero checks in the team USA.

11:28 p.m. — Mikal Bridges gets the steal and takes it coast to coast. That's 12 turnovers for Puerto Rico tonight. 

11:25 p.m. — Team USA starts the third with a bang, opening the period on a 7-2 run behind buckets from Brunson, Ednwards and Ingram.

Team USA goes into the half with a seven-point lead, thanks to. high-energy effort in the second quarter, led largely by their bench. 

Austin Reaves leads the way with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting in just eight minutes on court.

11:01 p.m. — Team USA has looked their best in transition tonight, forcing easy buckets off turnovers. The Edwards x Bridges combo on the perimeter is a nightmare. 

10:53 p.m. — OK Anthony Edwards!! He blocks the 3-pointer on one end and slams home the wide-open jam on the other. His athleticism is proving to be a headache for Puerto Rico. Team USA lead 42-35.

10:48 p.m. — Is this Austin Reaves' team? The Lakers guard is in attack mode every time he gets the ball. Team USA lead 40-33.

10:46 p.m. —  Conditt IV gets the wide-open jam at the rim for Puerto Rico. This USA lineup is fast but is giving up some size inside. Jackson Jr. checks right back into the game. Team USA lead 33-30.

10:43 p.m. — Team USA starts the quarter with their second unit lineup featuring Tyrese Haliburton, Austin Reaves, Cam Johnson, Paolo Banchero and Bobby Portis. This unit is getting up and down the floor with plenty of energy. 

10:41 p.m. — Stephen Thompson Jr. gets the second started with a triple for Puerto Rico to cut the lead down to three points.

After Puerto Rico took an early lead, Team USA found their rhythm, connecting on 11 of their last 15 shots to go into the first break with a six-point lead. 

Jaren Jackson Jr. was the focal point in the opening quarter, with a team-high eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, adding three rebounds, and a block, while Austin Reaves and Brandon Ingram have five points apiece. 

10:37 p.m. —Olympic gold medalists Kevin Durant and Draymond Green in the house to support Team USA.

10:34 p.m. — Tremont Waters in attack mode for Puerto Rico. He takes it right to the rim through traffic for two. He leads the way with nine points in Q1. 

10:30 p.m. — Austin Reaves gets a huge ovation from the crowd as he checks into the game and buries a triple with his first touch of the game. USA lead 17-12.

10:24 p.m. — Jaren Jackson Jr is making his presence felt early i this one on both ends of the floor. He's scored six of the first eight points for USA.

10:20 p.m. — Defense turns to offense as Anthony Edwards runs the floor for the jam. 

10:18 p.m. — Team USA is moving the ball well early, but struggling to knock down shots. Puerto Rico lead 6-4
