Team USA has played like the best squad in the world at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing the group stage with a perfect 3-0 record. Now, the Americans are moving to the knockout stage of the tournament and will face Brazil in Tuesday's quarterfinal contest.
Anthony Edwards stole the show in Saturday's 104-83 win over Puerto Rico, leading Team USA with 26 points. He appreciated the fact that Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and LeBron James let him cook.
"It's a dream come true that I get to play alongside those guys, so I'm making the most of it," Edwards said. "The fact that they were letting me put on a show shows a lot, shows their character that they're willing to do anything to win the game."
Brazil fought its way into the knockout stage after finishing with just one win in Group B, a commanding 102-84 victory over Japan on Friday. Bruno Caboclo, who was once called the "Brazilian Kevin Durant," had 33 points and 17 rebounds in that dominant win.
While Team USA will certainly be a heavy favorite to advance, the Brazilians play a physical style of hoops that could give the Americans some trouble if they aren't ready for a battle.
