The Mavericks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs Sunday in a Game 7 against the Clippers despite another 40-point effort from Luke Doncic.

A focal point of criticism by fans on Twitter: Dallas big man Kristaps Porzingis.

After the Mavs' 126-111 loss, social media users jumped on Porzingis for not only his effort in the final game of the first-round series but also for his overall playoff performance.

It certainly was a postseason to forget for him. He finished Game 7 with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one assist while making 6 of 12 shots from the field and posting an 0-for-5 effort from beyond the arc. Porzingis finished the series with three games under 10 points and no games with more than 20. Sunday was the only game where he reached double digits in rebounds.

Porzingis wrapped up his second full season with Dallas after coming over in a trade from the Knicks in January 2019. The Mavs signed him to a five-year, $158 million contract extension in July 2019. Acccording to Spotrac, he made $29,467,800 in the 2020-21 season. As one Twitter account pointed out, that's more than what several other big-name NBA players are making.

Plenty of Twitter users speculated about Porzingis' future and suggested that he might be playing overseas next year.

Others suggested Doncic, who scored more than 30 points in five of the seven games in the series and more than 40 in three of them, was unhappy with his teammate's performance.
