"Ice Trae" will be kept in the freezer for the summer.
After Bradley Beal was knocked off the Team USA Olympic basketball roster, a few NBA stars had a case to make it onto the squad as a replacement. Count Trae Young among the ones who believed he deserved a shot at the team.

The Hawks guard is coming off a star-making performance in the 2021 NBA playoffs, with the Hawks pushing the Bucks to Game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals. That should give Young at least a look for the Olympic squad.
But Young, apparently, wasn't given the nod for the team, as he tweeted the famed Isiah Thomas clip from last year's "The Last Dance" to voice his dissatisfaction.

Thomas was famously left off the 1992 "Dream Team" basketball roster amid an apparent beef with superstar Michael Jordan, with his explanation famously meme'd during "The Last Dance."
Young seems to have gotten the denial from USA Basketball as it continues to work through a replacement for Beal in the coming days before the start of the 2021 Olympics.
Team USA has some issues: The team also sidelined Jerami Grant as part of COVID protocol, and has a 1-2 record in exhibition games leading up to a potential appearance in Tokyo.
Here's hoping that the whole squad gets it together before then — with or without Trae.
