Trail Blazers at Grizzlies Prediction

The Trail Blazers (24-26 SU, 25-23-2 ATS, 23-25 O/U) hit the road for their second meeting of the season with the Grizzlies (32-17SU, 24-23-2 ATS, 21-26-2 O/U).

I love this spot for the Grizzlies and hate this spot for the Blazers. Memphis earned a home win against the Pacers on Sunday after returning from a five-game road trip, which it went 0-5. The Grizzlies are a much better team at home, and they should get Desmond Bane back tonight, which would give them a big boost offensively. Portland will be playing its first road game after a seven-game home stand. Backing Portland on the road is cause for concern because, at home, the Blazers' offense thrives, ranking third in home offensive efficiency. However, the shooting percentages go way down on the road, and the offensive efficiency drops to 20th. Memphis should be able to get back to its winning ways by taking advantage of its opponent's struggles tonight. I like the Grizzlies to cover in the first half and the full game.

PICK: Grizzlies 1H -2.5, Full Game -5

Raptors at Jazz Prediction

The Jazz (26-26 SU, 29-22-1 ATS, 29-21 O/U) host the Raptors (23-29 SU, 25-26-1 ATS, 27-25 O/U) for the first meeting of the season between the cross-conference opponents.

To be totally transparent, I like this pick, but I don't love it. There is just something that feels a little fishy about the line in this game, which makes me believe backing Toronto could be the right move tonight. The Raptors are playing their fifth game of a seven-game West Coast road trip. This will also be their fourth game in six nights and their fifth game in eight nights, all on the road. Meanwhile, the Jazz haven’t played since Jan. 28, when they beat the Mavericks at home. Shouldn’t Utah be a bigger against the spread favorite with the rest and schedule advantage it has over Toronto? I think so, which is why I think the market knows something I don't. Proceed with caution, but my play is on the road team tonight.

PICK: Raptors +3

Thunder at Rockets Prediction

The Rockets (12-38 SU, 18-28-4 ATS, 23-27 O/U) host the Thunder (24-26 SU, 32-18 ATS, 18-28-4 O/U) in a matchup between two not-so-great teams.

This is going to be an ugly one tonight, but I'm going to take the Thunder to cover on the road. While neither team is great, OKC is the better of the two and covers at a much higher rate. The Thunder are 11-2 ATS in their past 13 games and have strung together a stretch of 10 straight ATS wins in that span. They have also covered in their past six road games. Meanwhile, the Rockets are coming off a win over the Pistons, yet they've only strung together two straight wins twice this season. They've also only covered in games immediately following a win on three occasions. That doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence that Houston will be able to keep this one close, so I'll lay the points with the Thunder.

PICK: Thunder -5.5
