Now a member of the Lakers, Timofey Mozgov wasn't able to attend the Cavaliers' NBA championship ring ceremony on the opening night of the season, so he had to wait until the Lakers and Cavaliers played Saturday night in Cleveland.

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue presented Mozgov with the ring in a pregame ceremony, and Mozgov was quickly mobbed by his former teammates at midcourt.

"That right there just shows you how important Timo was to us and how the guys liked him," Lue told reporters after the game, per Cleveland.com.

Mozgov signed a four-year, $65 million free-agent contract with the Lakers last summer. He was averaging 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game coming into Saturday's contest.

"It was fun. It was good to see Timo," J.R. Smith told reporters, noting that he and Mozgov were teammates on the Nuggets before they were teamed up on the Cavs. "It was fun to celebrate something like that with a guy, even though he's not still on our team, he's part of our brotherhood."

Mozgov stopped by the Cavs' locker room for more pleasantries after Cleveland's 119-108 victory.

"I mean, anytime you get an opportunity to see a former teammate with the run we had — a championship run — it was great to see him," LeBron James said.
