The Timberwolves have ended the Nuggets' title defense in historic fashion.
Despite trailing by as many as 20 points in the first half, Minnesota found a way to claw back to earn an eight-point lead and advance to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in franchise history.
Prior to tonight, no team had ever come back from a halftime deficit of more than 12 points to win a Game 7. The Wolves, who trailed by 15 at the half, outscored the Nuggets 60-37 in the second half.
It was a rough night for Anthony Edwards, but the Wolves' 22-year-old All-Star finished with 16 points on 6-of-24 shooting with some big moments during Minnesota's comeback. No players were bigger than Jaden McDaniels, who scored 23 points, and Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid, who scored 11 points off the bench.
Jamal Murray (35 points) and Nikola Jokic (34 points) led Denver's offensive efforts as no other Nuggets players finished in double figures. Denver's inability to get anything done outside of its two stars proved to be its downfall.
