So, Tim, after a quick glimpse at your LinkedIn page, we have to say, you accomplished quite a bit at your last job.

There's no doubt that your claim to "scoring in the high and low post against a wide array of competitors" shows a go-getter initiative and "onboarding recently-traded-for co-workers, helping to familiarize them with our sets, system and culture" displays management potential.

It's clear your bosses in San Antonio trusted you with a lot, and all those employee of the year awards really stacked up. Even some national attention, I see!

But here's the thing, Tim: All this experience is so one-note. You've never left San Antonio, and you've never explored some of those interests you mentioned from your time at Wake Forest: "anthropology, calculus and 19th century German philosophy."

You're 40 now, and we're worried that your time as a Spurs employee has left you with a limited skill set for the real world. How are you on social media? You've got to be good on social media these days. Your LinkedIn page is a good start, but we are looking for Snapchat expertise and you don't even have Twitter!

Getting 12 recommendations for "Basketball" and eight more for "Sports" isn't particularly helpful in our line of work. Sure, we appreciate that you might be a nice ringer for our office rec-league team, but I'd like to see more details on that NBA Cares work you note on your profile.

There's very little here about your future initiatives and literally no evidence of how your influences — Ban Ki-moon, Bill Gates and Mark Cuban — have affected your career path.

Sorry, Tim, but the reality is that you spent a long time doing one thing and one thing only, all for the same one boss. Maybe you should see if they still have a spot open for you.
