It seemed as though the Pelicans were ready to mount a furious comeback in Game 1 of their first-round series with the Suns. They had cut Phoenix's lead to seven early in the fourth quarter after trailing by as many as 23 points in the third.

Then, Chris Paul happened. The future Hall of Famer scored 19 of his 30 points in the final frame, guiding Phoenix to a 110-99 win. Paul and the Suns will attempt to carry that momentum into Tuesday's Game 2 and take a 2-0 series lead.

New Orleans, meanwhile, will have to avoid putting itself in an early hole again. The Pelicans fell behind by double-digits in Game 1 because they simply couldn't create any offense, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field as a team. When they finally managed to string together a few decent possessions, Paul stepped up and shut the door.

How will the Pelicans respond in a critical Game 2?
