Curry needed eight 3-pointers to reach this unprecedented mark, heading into the Warriors' historic matchup against the Grizzlies Wednesday night. With the defending champion Warriors striving for a record 73rd regular-season victory, he began his march toward the mark early, knocked down six triples in the first quarter. He scored the first 10 points of the second half on his way to eclipsing the mark on a trademark 3 from the wing in the third quarter.
In case you wondering, the previous record was 286. Curry set that last year on his way to winning the first of what will soon be two-straight league MVP awards. In 2012-2013, he nailed 272 3-pointers, good enough for third all-time. The next year, he connected on 261 attempts, the seventh-highest mark ever.
The Warriors led 91-74 with 2:30 to go in the third. Curry had a game-high 39 points on 13-for-21 shooting, going nine of 17 from deep.
