Cliff Paul had to die to bring us Kevin Garnett dressed as a grandpa. That's the cost that we, as State Farm commercial-watchers, should be willing to pay.

The newest spot from the advertiser is a corny parody of family sitcoms. We're thinking more "Leave it to Beaver" than "Modern Family." Either way, Clippers point guard Chris Paul plays the dad, teammate DeAndre Jordan plays the mom, Cavaliers forward Kevin Love plays the son, Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard plays the baby and Garnett, the Timberwolves veteran, plays the grandfather.

Here's the new spot, which launched during Christmas Day NBA games:

Three important questions:

1. How much did they have to pay Jordan for this role? Does this really resolve any of the reported tension between Paul and Jordan? That blonde wig is nice, though.

2. What if that's really KG's hair color?

3. If the "Born to Assist" ad campaign is done, will we never get a Don Stockton spinoff movie?
