Spurs set NBA record for best home start with Warriors right behind image

The Spurs have etched their name into the NBA record book, but the Golden State Warriors aren’t far behind.

The Spurs improved to 38-0 at home this season with a 100-92 win over the Pelicans on Wednesday, becoming the first team ever to reach that mark (the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls lost their 38th home game.)

The Warriors are 37-0 at home this season and own the record with 54 consecutive regular season wins at Oracle Arena, dating to last year.

Both teams could become the first to go a perfect 41-0 at home, and they'll each have a shot at spoiling the other's run in their two remaining head-to-head matchups in the final two weeks. The Spurs will travel to Oakland on April 7, and the Warriors will travel to San Antonio on April 10.

The Spurs and Warriors have split their two games against each other this year, with each club winning on its home floor.
