For the first time ever, the Nuggets are NBA Champions.

Denver secured the title with a thrilling 94-89 win over Miami in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night. It marked the first championship in the franchise's 47-year history in the NBA.

The home crowd erupted as the final seconds ticked off the clock inside Ball Arena, ending the team's title drought.

Superstar center Nikola Jokic added even more hardware to his collection, earning the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Award. The Serbian was sensational throughout the postseason, averaging 30.1 points, 13.3 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game in the playoffs.

Point guard Jamal Murray also completed his fairytale run to a championship. The 26-year-old missed the last two postseasons after tearing his ACL in April 2021. His long road back from injury ended with him lifting the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
