Kirilenko had reportedly been assured that the would be released by the Sixers upon being traded to Philadelphia by the Nets. He never reported to the Sixers after the trade, however, and has been suspended without pay since.

Prior to the trade, Kirilenko played in seven games with the Nets this season, scoring just three points in 36 total minutes.
