The Trail Blazers announced after the MRI that Sharpe had a small labral tear in his left shoulder, and he will miss all of the Summer League. The team said he would be reevaluated in 10 to 14 days.

Following Saturday's game against the Pelicans, the only remaining scheduled matchups for the Trail Blazers are a contest Monday against the Knicks and Thursday against the Rockets.

Sharpe officially logged 5:33 on the court and went 1-for-3 from the field, 0-for-2 from 3-point range. He turned the ball over once.

Portland selected him seventh overall in the 2022 NBA Draft despite Sharpe never having played a minute of college basketball while at Kentucky. Following his high school career, he was viewed as the No. 3 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports Composite Rankings, which had him behind only Gonzaga's Chet Holmgren and Duke's Paolo Banchero, who went No. 2 and No. 1 in the draft, respectively.
