The former Thunder coach met with Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld on Wednesday in Southern California to discuss the deal. The Wizards have been searching for a replacement for Randy Wittman, who was fired last week after the team failed to make the playoffs with a 41-41 record.
In his seven seasons with the Thunder, Brooks amassed a 338-207 record and led the team to the 2012 NBA Finals. He was fired by Oklahoma City in 2015.
