The man who helped the Thunder become a perennial contender looks to be headed east. But first he went west.
The Wizards have offered former Thunder coach Scott Brooks their head coaching job, according to the The Vertical. Brooks met with Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld on Wednesday in Southern California.

Brooks would receive in the neighborhood of $7 million a year, according to the report.
The Wizards are looking for a replacement for Randy Wittman, who was fired last week after the team failed to make the playoffs with a 41-41 record.
Brooks went 338-207 in seven seasons with the Thunder, leading the team to the 2012 NBA Finals. He coached Kevin Durant for six-plus seasons in OKC, a fact that will immediately spark speculation about the two reuniting in D.C. Durant can become a free agent after the season, and the hometown Wizards have long been rumored to be a contender for him.
