Russell Westbrook did something unusual Sunday night, at least by his recent standards — he did not record a triple-double.
That statistical feat has become almost commonplace for the Thunder guard, as Westbrook entered Sunday's game against the Celtics with seven consecutive triple-doubles, the longest such streak since Michael Jordan also had seven in 1989.

But the Celtics held Westbrook in check, relatively speaking, limiting him to only six assists (to go with 37 points and 12 rebounds) as the Thunder won in overtime 99-96.
And so Westbrook's streak ends, just two games short of Wilt Chamberlain's record of nine consecutive games with a triple-double in 1968.
Forget the single-digit assists Sunday. Westbrook continues to shine in the post-Kevin Durant era in OKC, as he did on this play.
If it makes Westbrook feel any better, the Celtics have not allowed a triple-double in 226 straight games.
