Thunder guard Russell Westbrook had another outstanding performance on Friday in Oklahoma City's 115-112 loss to the Trail Blazers, but it ended with a scary injury.
Westbrook was struck in the face by teammate Andre Roberson's knee in the final seconds of the game, leaving what appeared to be a dent in the right side of his face. According to ESPN's Royce Young, the All-Star guard had surgery Saturday to repair a fracture of the zygomatic arch, and will be out on Sunday when the Thunder visit the Lakers.

While the injury may not keep Westbrook out for an extended period of time, it still isn't welcomed news in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are hanging on to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference by half a game entering Saturday, but have been relying heavily on Westbrook while their other star, Kevin Durant, has dealt with injury.
With Durant out, Westbrook has responded in a historic way. He finished February with six straight games of 20-10-5, the most since Michael Jordan accomplished the feat in 12 straight games during the 1988-89 season. Westbrook averaged more than 30 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds per game for the month, the best since Oscar Robinson's December in 1965.
