It's always good to see current stars pay homage to the classics.
Russell Westbrook did just that when he donned a rare throwback jersey before Saturday's matchup against the Warriors. The black and white number was a nod to the summer league team in the 90s cult classic hoops drama "Above the Rim", starring Duane Martin, Marlon Wayans and the late Tupac Shakur.

Actor Wood Harris, pictured to the right of Westbrook, also starred as Avon Barksdale in the hit HBO series "The Wire."
A lot of people don't know this (Warning: I'm completely making this up, but, hey, it's fun.), but after things got too hot with the cops in New York, Motaw, Wood's character's in "Above the Rim", moved down to Baltimore, changed his name to Avon Barksdale and began a criminal enterprise. He maintained his love for basketball as well, fielding a team in the summer leagues in Charm City.
