MORE FROM QUORA: Why did Rockets fire Kevin McHale?

Answers by Daryl Morey, general manager, Houston Rockets. His team will face the defending NBA champion Warriors in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs:

Q:  What part of the Warriors-Rockets series are you most excited to see unfold?

A: Hard to answer this one fully without revealing too much before the game (Saturday), but I am excited to see the matchups and adjustments made on each side. How will each team decide to guard the primary actions for (James) Harden and (Stephen) Curry? How much will each team go small or big? Will the Rockets team that beat the Spurs, OKC (twice), Toronto (twice), and the LA Clippers (twice) show up? I obviously think yes. We have many different looks we can throw at them from the big spot with Donatas (Motiejunas), Michael Beasley, Josh Smith, Terrence Jones and Montrezl (Harrell). It will be interesting to see what the coaches pick.

Q: What do you plan to accomplish in the offseason?

A: Get back to being a strong contender winning 50-plus games. This is our history, as since our owner has owned the team we have the fifth-best record in the NBA, including the third-best record my last 10 years. In addition, only three teams have more Western Conference finals appearances over those same spans and only a few teams have multiple championships like the Rockets. My job is to get us back there. We have given ourselves a tough path this year but we are bringing back essentially the same team from last year's Western Conference finals while adding Patrick Beverley, Donatas Motiejunas and Michael Beasley. This offseason we plan to use our strong players, organization and city to draw the top free agents in the NBA available as our primary tool to improve the team.
