Kawhi Leonard is filing a lawsuit against Nike.

The Raptors forward left an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand in October. The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year reportedly turned down a four-year, $22 million extension in March before electing to join New Balance.

However, Nike is claiming the rights to Leonard's "Klaw" logo that appeared on his branded apparel, which the superstar says he created himself, according to a report from Sports Business Journal.

The report states that the logo is based on sketches Leonard crafted during his collegiate career at San Diego State. He only gave permission for Nike to use it on "certain merchandise," but the sportswear company applied for copyright registration without his consent, according to the report.

Leonard is reportedly requesting to utilize the logo on clothing, footwear and other products in his lawsuit. He also wants to make use of it at sports camps and charity events.

The 27-year-old is currently competing against the two-time defending champion Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals. His Raptors are even with Golden State in the championship series at 1-1 heading into Game 3 on Wednesday.
