Raptors swingman OG Anunoby underwent an emergency appendectomy Thursday night and is expected to be sidelined up to two weeks, The Athletic reported.
The Raptors said the surgery, performed Thursday evening at Mount Sinai Hospital, was successful but gave no timeline for Anunoby's return.
The surgery is a blow to Toronto's lineup as the Raptors, seeded second in the Eastern Conference, prepare to take on the seventh-seeded Magic in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, a series that tips off Saturday.
A 6-8 second-year small forward from the UK, Anunoby, 21, averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 67 games in 2018-19.
Though he is relatively deep in Toronto's bench rotation, he does average 20 minutes per game, offering a respite for starters at multiple positions.
