President Barack Obama is going to have some time on his hands come January, so he'll need a hobby. At 54, Obama is young for a departing two-term president, so maybe a second career is in store.

Obama is a huge sports fan, particularly of Chicago's teams. Now comes word he might have some interest in owning part of an NBA team.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Wednesday, via The Washington Post, the president has "discussed" the possibility of becoming an NBA owner. But Earnest's statement was hardly definitive.

Earnest said the president could "potentially, if the opportunity arose, under the right circumstances," pursue a venture as an NBA owner.

It's hard to imagine Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf giving up any piece of his team, even to a former president. Obama has said he's going to remain in Washington for at least another two years so his youngest daughter, Sasha, can finish high school, so maybe the Wizards are an option.

Maybe those campaign donations from Ted Leonsis will pay off. Maybe, potentially.
