A swift kick to a chair cost one NBA guard a nice piece of change.

The Pistons' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was fined $10,000 by the league for booting the chair during a game against the Bulls on Monday. The fine was announced Wednesday.

Caldwell-Pope’s kick was the final straw in a string of outbursts. He had just been ejected for slamming a ball to the ground and arguing with an official.

He not only took down the chair, but he also apparently scared a young fan. He later apologized and gave the girl two autographed jerseys.

“I didn’t want to give her the sweaty one,” Caldwell-Pope said, via the Pistons' website. “I kind of scared her. In the heat of the moment, I wasn’t really thinking about that. But before I left the arena, I apologized to her.”

He and coach Stan Van Gundy also had to make up, as the pair had words after his outburst.

“I shouldn’t have said what I said to him,” Van Gundy said. “It wasn’t the time and it wasn’t productive. I couldn’t keep him in the game. He and I had a good talk. He’s a great guy, works his (backside) off. He’s not a hot head. He had a bad day in terms of he got frustrated. That’s all it was.”

Caldwell-Pope finished with 14 points in 33 minutes as the Pistons lost 111-101.
