Paul Pierce is getting on in NBA years, which means he's no longer holding back his opinions on some of his ex-teammates.

In a candid piece published on ESPN.com, Pierce revealed his beliefs about Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, among others.

Speaking about his time with the Nets, Pierce remarked that he and Kevin Garnett had to be the leaders of a team when they thought they were there to supplement.

"It was just the guys' attitudes there. It wasn't like we were surrounded by a bunch of young guys. They were vets who didn't want to play and didn't want to practice. I was looking around saying, 'What's this?' Kevin (Garnett) and I had to pick them up every day in practice.

Before I got there, I looked at Deron as an MVP candidate,'' Pierce said. "But I felt once we got there, that's not what he wanted to be. He just didn't want that."

Pierce offered to stay in Brooklyn with Garnett, even though he didn't enjoy being on the team.

And although they won a championship together in Boston, Pierce said that Ray Allen was always kind of distant from Garnett and backcourt mate Rajon Rondo.

"It was a weird relationship. We were all good friends on the court, but Ray always did his own thing. That's just the way Ray was. Even when we were playing together, we'd be having a team dinner and Ray wouldn't show up. We'd go to his charity events but Ray wouldn't show up to somebody else's."

The entire piece is worth checking out for the information. Pierce apparently spends a lot of his time stretching and in a hyperbaric chamber these days, so there's that to look forward to.
