Warriors guard Patrick McCaw was forced out of Saturday night's game against the Kings on a stretcher after taking a hard fall under the basket.

McCaw landed awkwardly on top of Vince Carter, which led to McCaw's back landing directly on the court. He remained down for several minutes while being attended to by medical personnel.

Microphones on the court could pick up audio from Golden State coach Steve Kerr who yelled, "God-damn it! I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at Vince [Carter]! He knows better."

Although Kerr was initially mad at Carter, he was later seen on camera consoling the veteran player.

Carter was visibly shaken from his role in the incident, and after the game he went over to the Warriors' bench and apologized. The Golden State players accepted and gave him a hug.

The moment ended up bringing both teams together for a prayer before game action resumed.

"Please send up prayers thoughts love to my guy [Patrick McCaw]," Stephen Curry tweeted soon after the fall. "God please heal his body and keep him strong!"

The Warriors said McCaw is being transported to UC Davis hospital for further evaluation.

After the game, Kerr provided as much information as he could, although the team is still awaiting more information.

"No updates, he's at the hospital and as soon as we hear anything, we'll let you know," Kerr said. "It was really scary. He was in a lot of pain, he landed on his back, you saw what happened. They took him off on a stretcher and immobilized him and ... we'll see. It's scary stuff.

"It's terrifying. All we're thinking about [is hoping] he's okay."

ESPN's Chris Haynes later reported McCaw would undergo a series of tests at UC Davis Medical Center.

As for his exchange with Carter, Kerr acknowledged that "Vince felt terrible." Kevin Durant realized that as well, and said he didn't think what Carter did was purposeful.

"It was an unfortunate play," Durant said. "Looked like he was caught in the middle of wanting to get in the play and wanting to move out the way, and Pat was coming in so fast and it was just an unfortuante play. Nobody in our locker room thinks Vince did that on purpose."

Here's what Carter had to say about the play after the game:
