Patrick Beverley was excused from the Clippers' Game 2 loss to the Nuggets early on Saturday night. The LA guard was ejected after receiving two technical fouls with 1:04 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Beverley argued too long with officials after being called for two personal fouls in quick succession. Referee James Capers tossed Beverley with consecutive techs.

Denver's Jamal Murray sank both technical free throws to give the Nuggets a 10-point lead. They won the game 110-101.

Beverley was highly frustrated after being called for the first personal, which he wanted Clippers coach Doc Rivers to challenge. Beverley even grabbed Rivers' arm as if to get his attention. Rivers didn't acknowledge Beverley.

The ejection produced pointed comments on Twitter about Beverley and Rivers.

The LA-Denver Western Conference second-round playoff series is now tied 1-1. Game 3 will be Monday in the Orlando bubble.
