Oh, what could have been.

Instead of Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and the halftime show that made the FCC blush, we could have had OutKast.

An Outkast halftime show would have been the best, but it never happened, in large part because the duo could not come to terms with the NFL on song length.

Big Boi (Antwan Patton), one half of the popular Atlanta-based hip-hip duo, was a guest of Dan LeBatard's ESPN radio show on Thursday and revealed that running mate Andre 3000 (Andre Benjamin) refused to cut down the popular songs "Hey Ya" and "The Way You Move" for time.

"[Andre] didn’t want to cut the songs, he wanted to do the full songs. It was like, 'Nah, can’t do it.'" he said, via Pitchfork.com. "Hopefully they invite us back." He went on to add that he attempted to convince his partner to reconsider, but Andre 3000 was not having any of it.

Considering the two popular songs were on the Speakerboxx/The Love Below album, which was released in 2003, it's more than likely that the duo was asked to perform at the Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2014 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

So instead, the NFL went out and got another act, and the rest is history.
