In the midst of a rough start to the season, the Nets (1-5) will look to right the ship on Monday when they host the Pacers (3-4) for the second time in three days.

When the two teams met on Saturday, Indiana rode the hot hand of rookie Bennedict Mathurin, who scored 32 points off the bench to lead the team to a nine-point win. The loss marked a new early-season low for Brooklyn, which held a players-only meeting with the aim of identifying the team's biggest issues, according to Nick Friedell.

The Nets' struggles to begin the season have stemmed from their poor defense — their defensive rating of 121.6 through six games ranks 29th out of the league's 30 teams. After getting blown out by New Orleans on opening night, each of Brooklyn's last five opponents have had at least one 30-point scorer.

While the Nets have struggled as a whole, Kevin Durant has been the biggest bright spot with averages of 32.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.2 blocks through six games while shooting 51.2 percent from the field. As the above numbers indicate, Durant has been less than thrilled with Brooklyn's subpar defense.

It's still early in the season, but Brooklyn will need to fix things sooner rather than later in order to make good on the title aspirations that it entered the season with.
