Tuesday night makes for a superstar showcase in Dallas when the Nets visit the Mavericks.
Three players selected to the 2021 NBA All-Star Game will take the floor, with Dallas' Luka Doncic looking to outshine Brooklyn's All-Star duo of Kevin Durant and James Harden, who have kept the Nets atop the Eastern Conference despite the absence of Kyrie Irving.
MORE: Where do Nets rank among East's elite?
Through 22 games, Durant is averaging a league-leading 28.6 points to go along with 7.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while Harden is averaging 20.6 points, 9.5 assists and 7.9 rebounds this season. Harden's 20.6 points per game are his lowest since his third season in the NBA.
Brooklyn looks to bounce back from a home loss to the Chicago Bulls in which Harden shot 5-for-21 (23.8 percent) from the field to finish with 14 points. Harden has shot below 30 percent two other times this season and in each instance, bounced back to shoot 50 percent or better in the next game, so a bounce-back performance should be expected.
MORE: Should we worry about the Nets' record against contenders?
The Mavericks, who are losers of two straight, look to get back on track with a win on Tuesday. In Dallas' most recent loss, it was without both Doncic and forward Kristaps Porzings. This season, the Mavs are 0-4 without Doncic, a sign that he'll need to be on the floor for the team to have a chance against the one of the East's elite.
