NBA teams opening facilities for voluntary workouts will be allowed to administer COVID-19 tests to players and staff regardless of whether they're showing symptoms, provided they're in states where coronavirus testing is readily available for at-risk health care workers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Magic are one of the teams with approval from the NBA, as well as written authorization from the Orange County Department of Health. Other teams expected to test all players and staff include the Lakers and Clippers.
If the NBA season continues, the league plans to test all players for COVID-19 to ensure safety, but there has been hesitation about letting teams administer tests in areas where tests are sparse and could be given to those at greater risk in the community.

Teams holding voluntary workouts are expected to take several precautions, including taking players' temperature.
Earlier this week on The Athletic's Dallas podcast, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban had expressed concern about the inability to test players and staff, and said the team would not open its facility Friday.
"The problem, obviously, is that because we can't test people, then we can't assure anybody's safety, whether they're basketball players or anyone else."
