Kawhi Leonard showed up to Thursday night's game between the Dodgers and Reds in Los Angeles, and naturally there were some takes on what it meant.
It's been just over two weeks since the Spurs were eliminated. Kawhi Leonard wasn't able to attend a single playoff game.

Tonight, he caught a Dodgers game in LA. This will definitely be your Laker fan-friend's new favorite video.

The first takeaway is obvious, and something The Ringer pointed out in their tweet: Leonard attends a baseball game, but didn't attend any of the Spurs' games. The other takeaway is that Leonard is going to be on the Lakers next season and win the NBA Finals.
At least, that's what you'd think reading some of the reactions from Lakers fans last night.

Here are the only reasons Kawhi Leonard could possibly be at a Dodgers game:

A) Has demanded a trade to the Lakers
B) Is about to demand a trade to the Lakers
C) Is already a Laker and it hasn't been announced yet
DO NOT @ ME
So let me get this right! Kawhi Leonard didn't attend a single #Spurs playoff game, decided to stay in New York for weeks, and all sudden he decides to attend a Thursday night's #Dodgers game in Los Angeles. Low blow to the @spurs organization? Low-key I think so... #NBA #LAkers pic.twitter.com/dErvsRyClS

LAKERS SEASON: What worked, what didn't and what comes next?
Obviously there is a chance Leonard eventually does play for the Lakers, but him attending a Dodgers game is not any evidence towards that. Leonard was born in L.A. and heads back to his hometown every offseason.
There's really nothing to be made of this. Earlier Thursday, NBA reporter Chris Haynes said on ESPN Los Angeles radio,"“I just don’t see the Spurs at any point trading their best player to the Lakers."
Also, as ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski reported, a league executive told them L.A. believes it can sign Leonard in 2019 as he has an opt-out clause in his contract.
“That’s why [the Lakers] are spinning it into ‘wait till next year,'” the executive told ESPN. “They know they can get Kawhi.”
So settle down for now, Lakers fans. You might get Leonard in 2019, but don't hold out hope for the upcoming season. Especially not because he attended a Dodgers game.
