Is Kobe Bryant's ESPN show cursing NBA players? image

Despite having not played a minute since 2016, Kobe Bryant might still be having an impact on the outcome of NBA games.

Bryant has a new show on ESPN+ called "Detail," in which the former Laker breaks down the most recent performance of a current NBA player. The idea was to provide analysis of standout performances throughout the playoffs. Instead, the show might be responsible for some of the featured superstars' postseason shortcomings.

Each player featured in "Detail" has run into some issue shortly after their episode aired. Here's the show's track record thus far.

Kobe Bryant's 'Detail' curse

Episode 2: DeMar DeRozan's Game 1 vs. Wizards

Resulting curse: The Raptors were swept by LeBron James and the Cavaliers in the second round.

Episode 3: Donovan Mitchell's Game 1 vs. Rockets

Resulting curse: Mitchell and the Jazz lost to the Rockets in five games in the second round.

Episode 4: Jrue Holiday's Game 3 vs. Warriors

Resulting curse: The Warriors defeat the Pelicans in five games in the second round. Holiday's "Detail" episode was from New Orleans' lone win of the series.

Episode 5: LeBron James' Eastern Conference finals preview

Resulting curse: LeBron and the Cavaliers lose Games 1 and 2 at Boston.

Episode 6: Jayson Tatum's Game 2 vs. Cavaliers

Resulting curse: Tatum and the Celtics drop Games 3 and 4 in Cleveland.

Episode 7: Steph Curry's Game 3 vs. Rockets

Resulting curse: Curry and the Warriors drop Games 4 and 5 against the Rockets in the Western Conference finals.

Episode 8: Jaylen Brown's Game 5 vs. Cavaliers

Resulting curse: Brown and the Celtics lose Game 6, forcing a decisive Game 7 at home.

NBA players should be grateful that Bryant's first episode covered the 2009 Western Conference finals; otherwise, the curse might have been more widespread. That said, there's bound to be a new episode soon. Who'll be the next victim?
