Warriors coach Steve Kerr continues to feed our ears with so much more than basketball X's and O's.
Kerr, who has spoken out on Donald Trump, alternative facts and political policies in the past, went off script once again during his pregame press conference Sunday to give his sympathy to Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas, whose sister died in a car accident Saturday.
"Before we start, I want to wish Isaiah Thomas and his family well," Kerr said to start his presser. "Everybody in our organization is just devastated to hear the news. Can't imagine what he and his family are going through. I want to wish them the best and we are thinking of them."

Kerr ended with another non-basketball quote about Easter prior to Game 1 of the Warriors' first-round series against the Trail Blazers.
“I’m not an overly religious person, I’m a spiritual person,” Kerr said, “and holidays are a great time to reflect and remind each other that regardless of race, color, creed, gender, political preference, religious preference, it’s important for everybody to just try to bring some joy to the world, extend some good will, and today’s a good reminder of that.
“We’re playing a game today. Great competition. Our fans are going to be excited. We’re so lucky to be in this building, live the lives that we do, and today’s a good day to extend a hand and help somebody out there. Thanks.”

That's vintage Steve Kerr. Ask about basketball, he'll give some solid sound bites. Let him clear his head about off-the-court stuff, and he'll offer up an introspective opinion that has a much bigger meaning.
