The G League Next Up Game is back for a second season after debuting at the 2023 All-Star weekend.
Twenty-eight NBA G League players will comprise four different teams that will compete in two semifinal games. The winner of each semifinal will then meet in the title game to determine the event’s champion.
Last year, Team Luka (named for its captain, Luka Garza) and Team Scoot (Scoot Henderson) squared off in a singular game. Team Luka defeated Team Scoot, 178-162, behind a 27-point performance from Sharife Cooper of the Cleveland Charge.
A revised format promises even more exploits in Year 2 of the competition, which once again touts some of the top young talent in the G League. The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know about this year’s G League Next Up Game.
