NBA free agency rumors: Nuggets, Mavericks hoping to ‘swoop in and lure’ Tobias Harris away from 76ers image

Tobias Harris is receiving plenty of interest ahead of free agency.

The Nuggets and Mavericks are hoping to “swoop in and lure” the 26-year-old forward away from the 76ers, according to a report from Bleacher Report, which cites unidentified league sources.

The Nets, Grizzlies, Jazz, Clippers and Pelicans have all also been linked to Harris while Philadelphia is hoping to re-sign him, as well.

Philadelphia acquired Harris in a deadline deal with the Clippers. He averaged 18.2 points and 7.9 rebounds in 27 regular-season games with the 76ers.

Harris has bounced around the NBA and has played for five teams in eight seasons, averaging 15.4 points per game while shooting 36.4% from 3-point range in 546 career appearances.

“There's only so many players that are super stable in the NBA, let's just be upfront with that,” Harris said about his approach to free agency last month. “For me honestly, style of play is a huge thing. Culture. A chance to be able to win. Just being in the playoffs here and getting that feeling.”

The Mavericks seem like they’re looking to have a busy offseason. They’ve reportedly shown interest in Patrick Beverley, Al Horford and Kemba Walker, among others, while they’ll also reportedly offer their own restricted free agent, Kristaps Porzingis, a max contract.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, finished last season second in the West with a 54-28 record. They advanced to the conference semifinals, where they fell to the Trail Blazers in seven games.
