NBA free agency rumors: Kings 'prioritizing' signing a center image

The Kings are looking to add to their frontcourt.

Sacramento is “prioritizing a center in the free-agent marketplace” this summer, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources.

The Kings have already shown interest in Nikola Vucevic, according to an earlier report from Arizona Sports 98.7FM. Vucevic, who has spent the last seven seasons with the Magic, averaged a career-high 20.8 points, along with 12 rebounds, and made the All-Star team for the first time in 2018-19.

“Obviously I’ve had a great seven years here, but at the same time, we’ll see what happens,” Vucevic said in late April, via the Orlando Sentinel. “It’s a mutual decision, and it’s not just me. They have to decide what they want to do. Based on that, we’ll go from there.”

Sacramento has also been linked to forward Tobias Harris, who began last season with the Clippers before he was sent to the 76ers at the trade deadline.

“There's only so many players that are super stable in the NBA, let's just be upfront with that,” Harris said about his approach to free agency last month, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “For me honestly, style of play is a huge thing. Culture. A chance to be able to win.”

The Kings finished last season with a 39-43 and missed the playoffs for a 13th straight season.
