NBA free agency rumors: Derrick Rose agrees to terms with Pistons image

The Pistons landed a big-name point guard.

Derrick Rose agreed to terms with Detroit and will sign a two-year, $15 million dollar deal, according to an ESPN report, which cited unidentified league sources.

Detroit emerged as the favorite to land 2010-11 NBA MVP Derrick Rose, according to an early report from The Athletic.

Rose saw a career resurgence in 2018-19 with the Timberwolves averaging 18 points on 48.2 percent shooting from the floor. It was the highest shooting percentage he has posted since his second year in the league when he shot 48.9 percent for Chicago.

He did once again miss a good portion of the season with an injury, but after being out most of the previous year, the 51 games played was a great bounce back for him.

Detroit does return Reggie Jackson to the team next season and a few other guards as well, but if Rose is healthy again he can be productive.

The Pistons made the playoffs last year but saw an early exit after they were swept by the Bucks in the first round.
