The NBA Finals series between the Celtics and Mavericks is heading to a critical Game 3 after Boston protected its home court to take a 2-0 series lead.
Once the Celtics took control in the second half of Game 2 on Sunday night, they never let go, handing the Mavericks a 105-98 loss at TD Garden. Playing dominant basketball on both ends of the floor has been the recipe for Boston all year long, and that hasn't changed in this championship matchup.

Dallas is still trying to figure out the best way to attack Boston offensively. In an effort to limit the Celtics' full-court pressure on Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, head coach Jason Kidd had P.J. Washington bring the ball up the floor and initiate offense in Game 2. The second game of the series was much closer than the opener, giving the Mavericks some positive momentum as they attempt to close the gap on Wednesday night.
