NBA Finals 2019: Draymond Green, Drake clear air over dinner after heated exchange image

Warriors star Draymond Green had unlikely company join him for dinner at a Toronto restaurant Friday, just a day after he and Drake got into a courtside heated exchange.

Green met the rapper — along with teammate Alfonzo McKinnie and an extended party — in a private room at the Cactus Club Cafe's downtown location near Scotiabank Arena, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.

"We was talking s—," Green told NBC Sports Bay Area of Thursday's incident. "And we live in a day and age where people — we live in a soft-ass world to where everything is a problem, and everything is a major issue. That’s the world we live in today, and so when someone sees people talking s— to each other, it’s like, 'Oh my God, they hate each other,' but it's the typical overreaction into everything that's overreacted to in today's day in age."

Green passed by the rapper on his way back to the locker room after the Warriors fell 118-109 on Thursday. While Drake appeared to be in a playful mood, Green wasn't having it. Stephen Curry later stepped in and separated the two.

It turns out, though, that the two have been friends for the past five years.

The NBA reportedly spoke to the Raptors about Drake's sideline activity ahead of the series. The rapper has received attention and scrutiny for his courtside behavior, but Green doesn't think it was necessary for the league to address Drake's antics.

"I think so many people make a big deal out of it. It is what it is," Green said Friday. "He's a fan. He talks, and it gets more attention because he's Drake. So many people are complaining about it, like, 'You don't let any other fan do that.' Yeah, any other fan is just not Drake, so they probably shouldn't be able to do that. That's just kind of how the cookie crumbles."

The Warriors will look to even the series in Game 2 on Sunday with tipoff set for 8 p.m. ET (ABC) in Toronto.
