This year's NBA Draft is as enigmatic as they come.

More often than not, the first-year player draft is a time of much fanfare, particularly for those whose every waking moment revolves around supporting snakebitten franchises.

This year's iteration of the time-honored tradition looks destined to be far more subdued, however.

Much of that reaction stems from the general perception of this year's class. It was always going to be hard to emerge out of Victor Wembanyama's menacing shadow. However, this year's incoming class hasn't done itself any favors; many draft experts regard it as the worst draft class in recent NBA history.

Such distinction could be a death knell to some. However, surprises do tend to take shape when teams are on the clock. Scouting is an imperfect science; the man who just won his third career MVP was a second-round selection, while this year's Defensive Player of the Year was viewed by many as a first-round afterthought.

All of that is to say that perception isn't always reality. Those making picks in this year's iteration of the event do so searching for hidden gems. It seems reasonable to believe at least a few will find them. If that's not a reason to watch, I don't know what is.

With that, here's what you need to know about the NBA Draft, from start time to television schedule.
