NBA Draft 2019 rumors: Some Knicks evaluators are ‘fans’ of Duke's Cam Reddish image

There appears to be multiple Duke players on the Knicks’ radar.

Some New York “talent evaluators are fans of” Blue Devils wing Cam Reddish, according to a report from SNY’s Ian Begley, which cites unidentified league sources. The team thinks his game will translate well at the next level, the report says.

SNY’s report adds:

This is not to say that the Knicks will certainly target Reddish if they end up picking fourth or fifth. There is a long way to go between now and when they're on the clock on June 20. But Reddish does have New York talent evaluators who think highly of him.

The Knicks, along with the Suns and Cavaliers, have a 14% chance to land the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft. Whichever team ends up with that selection is widely projected to take Reddish’s Duke teammate, Zion Williamson.

Reddish came to Duke with high expectations, but he underwhelmed as a freshman. He averaged 13.5 points yet disappeared for long stretches and shot just 33.3% from 3-point range. He’s projected to be selected at No. 7 in Sporting News’ latest mock draft.

The Knicks are expected to have a busy offseason as they’ll have enough cap space to sign two max players. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have both been linked to New York.

The NBA Draft lottery will be held May 14.
