The Pelicans' social team had a bit of fun on Twitter after the 2019 NBA Draft.
Ahead of Thursday's draft, the Panthers posted a Tweet wishing Zion Williamson good luck with a handwritten letter and some Carolina gear. They referenced the fact Williamson is from the Carolinas and played for Duke, but they didn't post anything on their account about the Hornets.
The Pelicans called out the Panthers for the tweet with a hilarious and witty message:
ya know you guys have an NBA team in your city? They had a strong draft last night too, and yet no tweet to them? 🧐 https://t.co/gca9hi3pBa

The Saints also joined in on the fun:
let us be the first NFL team to congratulate the @hornets on a strong draft last night! pic.twitter.com/QNQdyuop5l

As expected, Williamson went to the Pelicans with the No. 1 overall pick. He was overwhelmed with emotion after his named was announced.
"Oh, you can hear people say things like, 'Oh, that it was likely I was going to go No. 1,' but I guess you don't know until you actually go through it," Williamson told reporters in New York. "Hearing my name called, and I was able to make it on stage without a tear, shake the commissioner's hand, but in the interview with my mom standing beside me, and my emotions just took over."
An emotional @ZionWilliamson just after becoming the #1 overall pick in the 2019 #NBADraft!
