One of the low points of any sport's draft season is a scout playing armchair psychologist during prospect interviews with wildly inappropriate questions.
Former Kentucky forward Kevin Knox was the latest victim of this tactic when an unnamed team questioned him about his nonexistent child.
Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

Not that this line of questioning had any viable strategy to begin with, but the team seemed unprepared for Knox to call its bluff.
Regardless of Knox's answer, it would have had no discernable value in determining his NBA potential. If the identity of the team comes out, it should make fans a bit uneasy about its talent evaluation and draft strategy.
Knox is expected to be drafted in the lottery and is ranked No. 14 on Sporting News' NBA Draft Big Board.
