McCollum poured in 28 points in the first quarter — on 9-of-10 shooting from the field — leading to a franchise record for points scored in the first quarter.

The 28 points were also the most scored by any NBA player in a single quarter this season. McCollum entered the game averaging 21.4 points per game.
He finished with a with a career-high 50 points in just three quarters of action, becoming just the second player in the shot-clock era to score 50 points in less than 30 minutes of play (McCollum played 29 minutes).
